DEFINITION OF
SIMPLE PAST TENSE
Simple Past Tense can be
interpreted as a simple verb in the past tense. This verb is used to describe
an event, action and fact that happened in the past where the event has ended.
Examples : of the use of
these tenses are writing novels, short stories, legends and one's personal
diary book. And if we want to tell what we or our friends have done in a matter
of days, weeks, months or years ago, these tenses are used.

FUNCTION OF
SIMPLE PAST TENSE
1.
Declare an event
that happened in the past.
2.
Expresses a
common practice in the past.
3.
Stating sequence
of events or activities that occurred in the past.
4.
To express an
event or events that happen in the case did in the past.
III.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE SENTENCE
1. Using information about
the time or time period that revealed an event that happened in the past that
was specifically mentioned, such as, ago, yesterday, last year, last two days,
last night, last month, last week, for two months, for an hour , for a day, and
others
2. Using the second form of
verbs (verb 2), such as did, visited, went, ate, and others
3. To be used is
"was" and "were".
IV.
SIMPLE PAST TENSE NOMINAL SENTENCE
Simple past tense in the form of nominal sentences
is a simple past tense sentence that does not contain verbs (non verbal). In
forming simple past tense sentences (nominal), do not use verb (verb), but use
to be. To be used are "was" and "were". This tense is only
to reveal events that happened in the past.

FORMULA OF SIMPLE PAST TENSE NOMINAL SENTENCE
Simple past tense (nominal) does not use
verb (verb), but uses to be, that is "was" or "were". To be
"was" is a singular verb (singular verb) and the second form of to be
"is", while to be "were" is a plural verb (plural verb) and
the second form of to be "are". After to be "was / were"
generally accompanied by non-verb. Non-verb can be in the form of objects,
adjectives (adjectives), adverbs (adverbs), and others.
